1.  SOUTH WALES ACTIVITY WEEKEND: This has now been confirmed for the May Day bank holiday weekend May 4th to 7th.  Shane is planning an exciting weekend of activity, including a waterfalls walk in the Brecons, and then a zip-wiring assault course in the Forest of Dean.

UPDATE: Change of plan for camping - you have to book a minimum of 3 nights over the weekend, so have booked us in at Greenway Farm, Forest of Dean. It's nearer to us for reaching in daylight on the Friday and we can travel over to Brecon in about an hour from there. Also, do you want me to see if I can get hold of a minibus, that would really depend on what time everyone would be available to leave Burton.

The waterfalls walk is 10 miles, and includes one you can walk beneath.

The treetops info can be found at http://www.goape.co.uk including a video. This activity costs £25. Both this and the camp sites need to be booked, so please confirm with Shane a.s.a.p. if you want to go so that he can make all the arrangements.  If you don’t fancy the zip-wiring, there's plenty of other things to do in the area.  We could head to the pub at Hoarwithy on the Sunday evening which those of you who came last year will remember.

2.  CORNWALL 2007

Whitsun week (May 26th to June 3rd)

The last three major walks we have done – West Highland Way; Uphill to Old Harry; River Wye – have been over this week.  This time we are basing ourselves in one place giving more people the opportunity to spend a whole week with the BCV!!!

We are camping at South Penquite hill farm on Bodmin Moor (link to website).  Trips out from here apart from walks on Bodmin could be bits of the South West Coastal Footpath (the toughest bits!), The Eden Project and if it's hot a trip to the seaside! There is also the cycle track.

3.  RIVER MONNOW HIKE

A 3 day hike following the River Monnow from Monmouth to Hay on Wye. This 40 mile route is really a glorified pub/tea room crawl with castles, churches and ancient bridges.

The suggestion for this is to backpack with tent and sleeping bag, food is available en-route and campsites are next to or very close to pubs.

4.  LOVE’S LABOURS LOST

We are planning a social trip to London on Saturday 11th August to see Love’s Labours Lost at the Globe, 2pm performance. Tickets, in the pit, the best place to watch although you have to stand are £5. Will arrange a minibus. The idea is to leave about 7am to get into London about 10 so you can have a wander round or book yourself a flight on the London Eye. A visit to Borough Market is recommended - the farmers market to end all Farmers Markets. Please let Shane know as soon as possible if you want to go so we can book.

If you are interested in any of the above, please could you let Shane  know ASAP.
